Multi-Media CM Seminars in YOUR Area

Penny GardnerPenny Gardner presents an inclusive, multimedia Charlotte Mason seminar around the country. To have Penny Gardner speak in your area, find at least 25 people who would attend and have an idea for a meeting room. Then send an e-mail to discuss the seminar and set a date.

Penny has been homeschooling for over 20 years and has been using Charlotte Mason’s ideas since 1994. She offers practical ideas, concrete examples, and encouragement to those interested in incorporating Miss Mason’s ideas in their homes.

Penny is currently involved with a charter school that is committed to incorporating Charlotte Mason’s philosophy. She hopes to soon share what she is learning with other charter and private schools.

CHARLOTTE MASON SEMINARS

Admission price for seminars is most often $25 person or $40 couple; however, that may be adjusted depending on cost of the meeting place.

All seminars are inclusive. Though some of these seminars are located in churches (thanks to their hospitality), they are open to secular homeschoolers as well of those of any faith. This multimedia seminar is for both new or experienced home educators who want to learn about the Charlotte Mason approach. It is most helpful to beginning CMer's, those who want to see examples of CM in practice, and to those who want a refresher course and encouragement. Click here for the seminar agenda. You may bring a lunch or visit a nearby fast food restaurant.

Pre-registration. Unless otherwise noted, pre-registration is not required so you may pay at the door--unless the seminar is listed as “sold-out”. It is better if you pre-register so we will not cancel the seminar. Pre-registration helps to ensure enough seats and books for everyone.

Refund Policy:  If you are unable to attend for any reason, you may request a full refund in books less $5.00 shipping (unless a friend picks them up for you). If you request a cash refund, you will receive a check for $8 less than you sent in. Or you may give or sell your registration to someone--e-mail me so I can update the registration list with the correct name.

Children. Nursing babies are welcome but please make arrangements for other children.

COMMENTS FROM ATTENDEES:

“I just wanted to thank you for the excellent conference. We've been ‘doing’ CM for almost 10 years and I can honestly say I came away from your seminar with something new to do/study/think about in EVERY single subject. I've been to several home ed conferences over the years, this was by far the most useful, most entertaining, and most interesting! The information you presented was so very useful, and the finest introduction to the CM method I've ever seen. Your visual graphics were very professional and added considerably to the presentation.” --Pittsburgh, PA March 2003

“After homeschooling the Charlotte Mason way for over ten years, there were areas in which I struggled in translating the ideals into real life. I have read most of Charlotte's six-volume series, all the Parents Review magazines, and several books on the CM approach. They all had value, but reading The Charlotte Mason Study Guide and attending Penny's seminar enabled me to put the missing puzzle pieces into the whole picture. The seminar was certainly the highlight of our year. . .actually the defining moment of our entire homeschooling lifestyle! Thank you, Penny, for blessing families with your wisdom and insights into this most excellent educational way.” --Fort Worth, TX Oct. 2003

“Penny has a way of sharing Charlotte Mason's ideas so that you feel you can really go home and implement these methods. It was so inspiring!” --San Diego, April 2002

“Penny's seminar is the bridge between Charlotte Mason theory and it's application. She gives understandable, practical advice. I left with the confidence to start applying this method immediately. ” --Henderson, NV, 2002

“I found the seminar extremely helpful. I'd been reading about CM method online and in books, but to sit through the ‘hands-on’ demo of narration was fantastic. Thank you for helping me think outside of the box about education.” --Vallejo, CA, 2002

“I thought the seminar was terrific in every way. Your seminar was as practical as it was inspirational.” --San Jose, Aug. 2002

“I loved the seminar! I have been homeschooling the Charlotte Mason way for 6 years. I am so excited to start school again and use all of the helpful tips and ideas. I loved your honesty and fun.” --Rancho Cucamonga, Aug. 2002

“Seeing the application of it all in one day was so helpful! ...Everything you teach and everything Charlotte advocated can't help but make any family's learning experience richer and more joyful.” --Portland,  2002

“I had a wonderful time and even though I've been using Charlotte Mason methods for about 5 years now, I still learned a lot and was also encouraged to get back into some of the things I've let slide.” --Manitowoc, WI

“ I have been thinking about homeschooling my last two children, when a friend invited me to your seminar. I was so inspired by your message. I actually think I can do it! My mind is busy planning my schedule for next year.” --Phoenix, AZ

“My technical minded husband and I attended your seminar in Indianapolis. He truly loved the seminar and is passing along your web site to all his friends at work whose wives homeschool their children! That says so much about your seminar. We both loved it, it solidified our decision to remain homeschooling for the long-run (this is our fifth year.)
I used your recommendation for using predictable books and echo reading yesterday with my 6 year old son who was not a happy camper when it came to learning to read...Then today he brought me the book, and asked if he could read with me! I almost cried!
He laughed throughout the book, read more than he has ever before, and truly enjoyed reading. Before, he said to me that he didn’t want to learn to read because he would be bored. Then today he’s begging to read with me! I am so amazed at something so simple making such a difference.
Penny, thank you so much for sharing your experiences and your wisdom with us. I am so glad we attended your seminar. In two short school days it has changed the dynamics of our family.” --Indianapolis, 2003

“I enjoyed your seminar very much and received so many very good ideas. I cannot wait to use them. In my 3 years of homeschooling, I've spent a lot of money on useless things...the money I spent on your CM seminar was the best spent ever.” --Pittsburgh, PA, 2003

“I feel inspired after hearing you speak. I have your book, as well as other CM books, but have struggled to put things into practice for some reason. After listening to you explain things, however, I now feel like this really is something which I can do, and even do well, and it sounds like so much fun. I'm really excited, and think these seminars you do are important.” --Hamburg, MI, 2003

“The seminar in Raleigh was a great blessing. It definitely was the high point of my ‘teacher training.’ I really like the longer intensive type seminar. It is so nice to be able to get a lot of specialized instruction versus a typical one-hour workshop available at our huge homeschool convention.” --Raleigh, NC, 2003
